We are all in charge of our health. Now don’t panic, we are also human so we aren’t expected to be perfect. We are expected to put in our best effort and thrive for better. Getting healthy takes time, so patience is important. Baby Steps is the best way to a healthier lifestyle.
When I help clients they always look at me when I say no white, no sugar and lots of water. Then I tell them ¾ of their plate should be vegetables… yup same look I am getting now. Then I give them the good news, they are human and I don’t expect them to change overnight. I try to plot out a course for them to achieve some goals that are REALISTIC!
I get really upset at diets that cut calories to 800 and the individual drops a ton of weight but that isn’t realistic for keeping the weight off. It’s all about lifestyle change. Which happens in baby steps. We as humans learn in baby steps and I repeat this phrase a lot with my clients.
Because when we get on our own case, we stress ourselves out. When we stress we lower the ph in our body, making it more acidic, which your organs don’t like. SO RELAX and look at what you are doing right and add to it. IN BABY STEPS.
So why don’t we look at some baby steps that will put you on the path to better health.
Drink 2L of Spring Water daily.. why spring. Spring has the correct ph. RO(reverse osmosis) is too acidic and that is why some people complain they get a stomach ache when they drink it.
GET OFF THE SUGAR.. this one I get really passionate about this one. We all eat WAY too much sugar and need to cut back, especially the white processed garbage, I mean sugar.
Add a new vegetable a week, this is harder than you think because we don’t always know what to do with them. When I first started this I went out and bought a whole bunch of really healthy vegetables and they rotted in my fridge because I have had no idea what to do with them. Go on the internet there are all sorts of great websites for expanding your vegetable world. Grilling is awesome. Grilled beets with parsnips and rutabagas are wonderful and SO HEALTHY . Even my kids eat them.
Start really washing your veggies and fruits. There are pesticides on our food and other things we don’t want in our body, as well as wax and preservatives, so fill the sink when you get home from the market and put a couple droppers of grapefruit seed extract oil (I have used this for years) and let them soak for 15 mins. Voila.. another baby step!
Add protein to your day. Most of us don’t get enough protein in our diets so try to add some hemp hearts to your yogurt or cottage cheese. Or Flax Seed or Chia Seeds, all wonderful and all a very easy to add some much needed healthy protein to our diets
Another Baby Step is enjoy life, look for the good in all situations and be grateful daily for all you have. This helps to keep us on the positive side of life and remind us daily how blessed we really are.
